Drawing with Fire
This series of drawings was begun during an Artist Fellowship at the Creative Glass Center of America, Wheaton Arts Center in 2014. The most recent edition was created at Urban Glass in Brooklyn, NY in 2019. In this body of work I work directly on paper, drawing with molten glass. As in all work with hot glass, the artist must work quickly- almost as if it were a dance. The resulting imagery reflects this sense of immediacy, creating gestural marks that reflect the quality of molten glass itself.
